Police Officer Minimum Requirements

• $35.00 non-refundable application fee;

• Valid NIPSTA POWER Test Card (Cards considered valid if issued one year prior to 11/11/09).  Applicants must submit proof that they have passed the Illinois Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test at the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA) within one year prior to November 11, 2009;

  • *The Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA) will be offering a POWER test assessment on Saturday, November 7, 2009. Registration for the POWER test must be completed at least three (3) days prior to the desired test date. For more information contact NIPSTA at (847) 998-8090 or visit www.NIPSTA.org.

• U.S. Citizenship;

• High School Diploma or GED;

• Valid Driver’s License;

• 21 to under 35 years of age on November 11, 2009 unless otherwise exempt by Statute;

• No felony convictions;

• Submission of Online Application, Release Forms and Other Required Documents (SEE CHECKLIST!) by November 11, 2009 at 12 NOON.
