St. Charles Police Department

This position will implement, coordinate, and schedule all Police Department training. This will include evaluating each employee’s assignment in order to schedule relevant training, disseminating information to personnel regarding available training schools and seminars, researching available training, conducting training needs analysis, and evaluating and coordinating in-service training and ensure that annual requirements/certifications are maintained. This position will also assist with the budget process, and ensure that required training programs are attended and that all employees training is recorded and maintained. The training coordinator will serve as the Public Safety Training Facility coordinator and be the liaison with the City fleet foreman and outside vendors to ensure continuous maintenance of Department vehicles and related equipment. Knowledge of grant research and the application processes would be highly desirable.

Requirements

Ability to efficiently and effectively communicate both orally and in writing
Strong organizational skills is a must
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Thorough knowledge of Lotus Notes and the New World records system will be required within six (6) months of hire
A Bachelor’s degree in police administration, law enforcement, or a related field and experience as a police officer or comparable law enforcement background, preferably with a training practitioner background are required
Must possess a valid driver’s license and Firearms Owners Identification card within 90 days of hire
