Applications must be returned to the Village Hall no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2012.




  • Be a United States Citizen 

  • Must be between the ages of 21 & 43  

  • Have 2 years of previous related experience in good standing  

  • Have 2 years of uniform patrol duties as a commissioned law enforcement officer  

  • Validated evidence of successful completion and certification from an approved police academy  

  • Satisfactory performance evaluations over the last 5 years  

  • Possess a valid driverís license  

  • 20/70 binocular vision correctable to 20/20 and not be color blind  

  • Be of high moral standards and personal integrity and habits based upon contemporary Village standards, as determined by the Police Department

  • Be free of any felony convictions, or misdemeanor criminal convictions as specified in CH.24, Section 10-1-7 of the Illinois Revised Statutes  

  • Speak, read, and write the English language fluently  

  • Must be able to fully disclose all personnel matters to include agreements and any sealed files  

  • Submit 3 letters of recommendation  

  • Must be able to comply with contractually agreed upon residency requirement   

  • Successfully pass probationary period  

  • Furnish copies of birth certificate, high school diploma or GED, Military Service record & discharge papers, social security card, driverís license, background release and resume.
