The Board of Police
Commissioners of the City of South Beloit, Illinois is accepting applications
for the purpose of creating a police officer eligibility list for hiring.
salary) to $78,000 (after 15 years)
Full-time officers are
represented by the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Labor Council
Officers receive an

All applicants must meet the following
minimum requirements established by the
City of South Beloit Board of Police Commissioners:
Minimum of 21 years of
age at time of appointment AND not over 35 at time of application, except as provided in 65 ILCS
No felony convictions
Possess a valid driverís
Be a high school
graduate or possess a G.E.D. equivalent
Valid NIPSTA (P.O.W.E.R.
Test) card issued within the past 12 months of the date of appointment
Must have a maximum
uncorrected visual acuity of 20/200 that is correctable to at least 20/40 AND be
free from color-blindness
Must meet other criteria as
established by the Board of Police Commissioners
Pay a $45.00
non-refundable application processing fee
will be awarded as determined by the City of South Beloit Board of Police
Commissioners for the following:
Military: Persons who
were engaged in the military or naval service of the United States for at least
one year, and were honorably discharged. A copy of Form DD-214 (indicating
status of discharge) must be submitted with application to qualify.
possessing an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice -OR- a
Bachelor's Degree in any
subject. A copy of your transcripts or diploma must be submitted with
application to qualify.
Experience: Persons who are currently, or have previous experience as a law
enforcement officer. A copy of your state law enforcement certification must be
submitted with application to qualify.
