The Training Coordinator is directly responsible to the Deputy Chief of Operations. The Training Coordinator shall work closely with command and administrative personnel to plan, coordinate and implement programs in accordance with Fire Department goals and objectives.

• Develop, implement and coordinate all training and education programs for department personnel

• Prepare and administer the annual department training budget in accordance with identified goals and objectives

• Schedule relevant training for all personnel in accordance with member’s assignment, supervisory recommendations and evaluations, and department and village needs and requirements

• Research and schedule programs, seminars, and schools necessary to ensure that department members have the most current information regarding, new developments and technology in the services provided by the Fire Department

• Disseminate information to personnel regarding available training schools and seminars that are designed to raise knowledge and skill levels

• Coordinate training schedules with Battalion Chiefs

• Assist department personnel with enrollment in career development and college programs

• Minimum of 5 or more years experience with a fire department or other emergency services agency

• Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Fire Officer II or comparable level, preferably with experience in personnel training

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in education or a fire-related discipline.
