Announces Acceptances of Applications for

The Position of Probationary Police Officer

 

 

In order to qualify to participate in the examination process, police applicants must:
 

  1. Be MUNICIPAL REGISTRY CERTIFIED (P.S.A.T)* and proof of certification
    must accompany the completed application.

  2. Be at least 21 years of age.

  3. Be a citizen of the United States.

  4. Have a high school/GED diploma.

  5. Posses a valid divers license.
     

EXAMINATION PROCESS:

Those candidates deemed as most qualified will be invited to continue in the eligibility process by the Board of Fire and Police Commission. This process will include an intense background investigation, oral interview, medical examination including drug screening, post-psychological and polygraph examination.

TO APPLY:

Applications must be picked up at the Round Lake Park Police Department, 215 E. Mains Street, Round Lake Park, Illinois 60073 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Fully completed applications meeting the basic requirements outlined above must be returned to the Round Lake Park – Hainesville Police Department no later than 4:00 p.m. on February 27, 2004. Applicants meeting the basic requirements will be advised in writing of the next stage in the examination process.

Applicants who are 20 years of age and have successfully completed two (2) years of law enforcement studies at an accredited college or university shall be eligible to take the initial examination for Probationary Police Officer. Any such applicant who is appointed under this provision of the Act shall not have the power of arrest or be permitted to carry firearms until they reach 21 years of age.
