The Round Lake Beach Police Department is accepting applications for police officer.

Application packages can be picked up at the Round Lake Beach Police Department, 1947 N. Municipal Way, Round Lake Beach, IL, beginning Saturday, November 29th, 2003. A $10 non-refundable processing fee must be paid when picking up application. Completed applications and forms must be returned by 7PM on December 18, 2003.

Applicants must be US citizens, 21-35 years old or as set by statute, have a high school diploma or its equivalent, must possess a valid driver's license, must have no felony or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions. Patrol officers will monitor traffic, keep peace, answer/solve assigned calls; must perform essential job functions of police officer within municipal boundaries. There is no residency requirement.

Applicants must successfully pass physical agility, written and psychological testing, oral board interview, drug screen, background investigation, polygraph, and medical examination. Applicants must also meet the criteria established by Illinois Statutes and the Round Lake Beach Board of Police and Fire Commissioners. Preference points are given for military, education and police certification.
