The Village of Romeoville Fire & Police Commission is in charge with the appointment of all full time Fire Fighter/Paramedics. The Board of Fire & Police Commissioners will hold examinations for qualified persons to establish an eligibility list. Once the eligibility list is established, we will start hiring immediately.

To be considered for employment, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have not attained their 35th birthday at the time of posting of the Final Eligibility Registry

• Must possess a valid driver's license

• Must also possess a high school diploma or its equivalent

• Have State Certification as Paramedic EMT-P

Applicants must attend the orientation and pass a written test, oral interview assessment, polygraph test, background investigation, and a pre-employment, post offer psychological and medical examination.

The Orientation will provide you with information on the Romeoville Fire Department hiring process, benefits and further job requirements. A question and answer session will follow.

A picture I.D. with signature will be required for your admission into the Orientation session.
