If you are currently or were recently employed as a full time (non-probationary), certified law enforcement officer with at least 2 years of experience, and are interested in becoming a Rolling Meadows Police Officer, applications are being accepted 4/25/11 through 6/10/11.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment and currently or recently employed as a full time (non-probationary), certified law enforcement officer with at least 2 years of experience. Education requirements will be waived in lieu of the two years of full-time law enforcement status.
All lateral transfer entry process candidates must provide documentation to show that their current responsibilities and duties are similar to those of a Police Officer in the City of Rolling Meadows. This will be accomplished through a combination of employee evaluations, past and current assignments, training certificates. Applicants must further provide documentation that they have fulfilled the requirements of the Illinois Police Training Act. Those candidates that are out of state law enforcement officers must provide documentation that they have fulfilled the requirements of their respective training boards and also received certification through the Illinois training board and have worked at least two years within the state if Illinois.
Lateral transfer entry candidates who meet these requirements and are selected for entry will not be required to take an entry level written exam or entry level physical agility exam. Lateral transfer entry candidates will be required to complete all other phases of the entry process before an offer of employment.

Once hired, the applicant will be required to successfully complete a field training program and 18-month probation period.
All persons accepting employment with the City of Rolling Meadows Police Department must agree that they will not smoke, chew, or use any tobacco product(s) on duty during the entire tenure of their employment. If they do smoke, chew, or use any tobacco product(s) while on duty at any time during the entire tenure of employment, they will be subject to dismissal for cause.
