The Rolling Meadows Police Department is internationally accredited, a recipient of the 2002 International Community Policing Award, and the 2005 Illinois Chiefs of Police Community Policing Award. The members of the Department work as a team to provide service and protection to the community.

The Department offers a wide variety of career paths and competitive benefits including tuition reimbursement, health care and is an approved agency for the Department of Veterans' Affairs OJT training program.

Minimum requirements for the position of police officer are:

• 21 - 35 years of age at time of appointment

• US Citizen

• Valid driver's license

• Vision correctable to 20/40

• Minimum of 48 college credit hours; In lieu of the education requirement, a person may apply if they possess a high school diploma and either 2-years of full-time law enforcement related or military experience

No tobacco use in any form is allowed while on-duty. Successful applicants must pass a physical agility exam, written tests and oral interview. Conditional offers of employment are subject to an extensive background investigation and medical, psychological and polygraph examinations. The Rolling Meadows Police Department does not have a residency requirement.

In order to participate in the testing process, applicants must attend a mandatory orientation session on 11/11/05 at 7 PM:
