The Ogle County
Sheriff’s Office, Ogle County, Illinois, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is
through the Sheriff’s Merit Commission seeking qualified applicants for the
position of Patrol Deputy and the position of Correctional Officer, without
regard to race, color, creed, gender or ethnic origin, to establish an
eligibility list for current and future openings in the Sheriff’s Office.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
-
At least 21 years of age at time of
application.

United States Citizen and Illinois
resident for one year prior to application.
-
Patrol Deputy applicants must have a
minimum of 60 hours of college credit from accredited college or university.
College requirements may be waived for applicants having served a minimum of two
years full-time military service with an honorable discharge.

Correctional Officer candidates must
have a high school degree or GED Certificate.

All candidates must have weight in
proportion to height.

Eyesight correctable to 20/20 and be
free of color blindness.

Meet minimum physical agility
standards for respective position as set by Illinois Law Enforcement Training
and Standards Board.

Successfully complete written exams,
oral interviews, background investigation and medical examination as required by
the Commission.

Current salary range is $33,449 to
$49,431. ($34,619 to 51,161 effective Dec. 1, 2006)

All uniforms and equipment supplied.

Take home squad program for Patrol
Deputies. (Must reside within the county.)
