The Village of Oak Brook is creating an Eligibility List for the position of Police Officer. 

 

Starting Salary is $56,180 per year plus other benefits, based on the most recent collective bargaining agreement.

 

 

Police Officer Minimum Requirements:

  • $25.00 non-refundable application fee;

  • U.S. Citizenship;

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED);

  • Valid Driver’s License;

  • Applicant must be 21 years of age at time of application, and UNDER 35 years of age at time of application and at such time as the initial eligibility list is established, except as otherwise determined by State Statute;

  • Must possess and provide a copy of a valid 2011 Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report Test (POWER) card no later than Monday, November 21, 2011, at 5:00 p.m.;*

  • You MUST meet the above minimum requirements, complete the online application AND confirm its contents by the application deadline of September 30, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. You must also have all required documents (see checklist) and the release form signed and dated in front of a notary and submitted by September 30, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. to:

Application Instructions:

  1. Visit http://www.publicsafetyrecruitment.com to pay the non-refundable application fee and to complete the online application for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. The deadline to complete and confirm the online application is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011. When completed, you will receive a confirmation number. Save this number for your records.

     

  2. Successfully complete the POWER Test (if not already done so in 2011) and provide a copy of your 2011 card no later than Monday, November 21, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. via email: rkane@oak-brook.org –or- facsimile: (630) 368-5033, -or- at Oak Brook Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, Village of Oak Brook, 1200 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523. POWER Test Card must be issued in 2011 to be considered valid.

     

  3. All required documents (see checklist, attached) must be received before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 to Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, Village of Oak Brook, 1200 Oak Brook Rd., Oak Brook, IL 60523. Postmarked documents will NOT be accepted. The “Authorization to Release Information” document must be signed in front of a notary and the original submitted. Applications and required documents received after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 will NOT be accepted. Documents may be delivered by hand or by mail; traceable courier is suggested to ensure timely delivery.

     

  4. Attend Mandatory Orientation and Written Exam on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at a location to be determined in Oak Brook. Applicants will be notified via email of location as soon as it is determined. Orientation begins at 9:00 a.m. and testing will immediately follow. Arrive by 8:30 a.m. with valid driver’s license or state ID to sign in. Testing will begin at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Candidates arriving after 9:00 a.m. will not be permitted into testing. No exceptions.

 

All portions of the testing process are mandatory. Failure to attend and successfully complete any portion of the process will result in elimination from employment consideration.
