The New Lenox Police Department is seeking experienced police officers to join our team.



The Village of New Lenox is a growing community consisting of approximately 16 square miles.  It is located in Will County, approximately 36 miles southwest of Chicago.  New Lenox has a population of 27,000 residents.


The mission of the New Lenox Police Department is to affirmatively promote a feeling of safety and security to members of the community in a manner that complies with the legal and professional standards established for the law enforcement profession.

  • Current assigned shifts are 8 hours. 12 hour shifts beginning in January 2018.


You must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 23 years old, and possess a valid driverís license

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed a minimum 30 semester credit hours at an accredited university or college

  • Must have normal peripheral vision and vision must be correctable to a minimum of 20/40

  • Must pass background investigation, oral, psychological, polygraph, and medical examinations

  • Must have at least two years continuous experience as a full time sworn, certified law enforcement officer in Illinois, and in good standing with current department

  • Must be able to furnish upon request, a copy of the following: professional licenses, training certificates, documents confirming work experience, birth certificate, diplomas, transcripts, and any other employment related material as requested
