Qualifications:

• Illinois law requires that all law enforcement personnel must satisfactorily complete a four hundred plus hour course of academic and physical training.

• Ability to handle varied physical activity including extensive sitting, walking and running.

• Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license for the lawful operation of District vehicles with no license revocations or suspensions within the last three years.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.

• Successfully complete an extensive background check and physical examination.

Duties:

Working 3pm-11pm shift on Saturday/Sunday during the summer season. The Part-Time Park Police Officer is charged with enforcing Federal, State, Village and Park District laws and ordinances within Park District property.  The Park Police Officer also performs as a motorized patrol officer engaged in all facets of law enforcement duties within the parks.
