NOTICE OF TESTING FOR FIREFIGHTER II – EMT

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the Village of Midlothian will accept applications for the position of full time Firefighter II – Emergency Medical Technician.

Applications will be available starting September 19^th, 2005.

The applications may be picked up at:

Village Hall

14801 S. Pulaski Road

Midlothian, Illinois

Monday through Friday

9:00 AM until 5:00 PM

Saturday

9:00 AM until 12:00 AM

Applications need to be filled out correctly and completely to be accepted. The application deadline is October 3^rd, 2005 at 5:00 PM. There is a non-refundable processing fee of $25.00 that must be paid at the time the application is picked up. This is used to partially cover the cost of the physical and written testing.

Required Qualifications 

• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and not over thirty-five years of age at time of appointment except as otherwise provided by state statute.

• U.S. Citizen.

• Sound physical and mental condition.

• High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).

• Possess current drivers license in good standing.

• Meet all other eligibility requirements as provided by the State Statute and the Village of Midlothian Fire and Police Commission Rules and Regulations.

• Attend mandatory orientation meeting, which is to be held Friday, October 7^th, 2005 at 7:30 PM in the Village of Midlothian Council Chambers.

• Successfully pass physical testing held on Saturday, October 8^th, 2005 at 8:00 AM at the Village of Midlothian Fire Department Station #1, 14801 S. Pulaski Rd.

• Pass mandatory written examination (date will be issued after successful passing of physical exam).

• Pass Oral Interview.

• Upon offer of employment, pass a physical examination by the Fire and Police Commission Physician or a Physician designated by the Fire Department.
