NOTICE OF POLICE DEPT. LATERAL TRANSFER IN THE

VILLAGE OF MIDLOTHIAN

COUNTY OF COOK, STATE OF ILLINOIS

 

 

The Board of Fire and Police Commission will be accepting applications for lateral transfer to the Police Department in the Village of Midlothian.  Applications are available starting December 12, 2011 at the Midlothian Village Hall, 14801 S. Pulaski, Midlothian, Illinois, and should be filled out correctly and completely and returned on or before December 29, 2011 by 5:00 pm.

The Village of Midlothian reserves the right to alter salaries and benefits and that employment shall confer any vested right except as may be provided by law.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Applicants must be of good moral character, sound health, and no criminal convictions or no Court Supervision for offenses criminal in nature.  Must be able to read and write the English language, must possess a valid driver’s license without record of suspension or revocation in any state.

  2. Applicants must have certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board as a certified full time police officer.

  3. Applicants must be in good standing with the police department the applicant currently serves or applicant previously served and left a police department in good standing within six months of application for hire with the Midlothian Police Department.

  4. Applicants must have two (2) years of full time police or law enforcement experience in the State of Illinois.

  5. Every applicant must be not less than twenty-four (24) years of age or over thirty-five (35) years.

  6. Applicants who have been determined by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board to meet the above requirements will be required to be evaluated by an independent testing agency for placement on the list and will be required to successfully complete medical screening, psychological screening, background investigations, and polygraph examination prior to offer of employment being given.

  7. Residency Requirements:  Within one year of the date of employment with the Village of Midlothian or within thirty (30) days of completion of the probationary period, whichever date is later, employees must establish residency within the area defined by the Village of Midlothian.  As a condition of employment, employees must maintain residency during their time of employment.

  8. Salary:  The starting salary for entry level lateral transfer officers is $43,000.00 annually.   Upon completion of the field training program, the salary will be adjusted to the one-year level.

 

Applications for the Lateral Transfer List will be received on a “First Come, First Served” basis and placed on an Initial List, in that order.  Testing of applicants will be completed on January 7, 2012 at the Midlothian Village Hall, Midlothian, IL.
