Firefighter Competitive Selection Process

Village of Melrose Park

 

 

The Village of Melrose Park Board of Fire & Police Commissioners will be conducting examinations for the position of firefighter for the Village of Melrose Park Illinois.

 

 

Applications may be obtained at:

Melrose Park, Illinois

Administration Office

 

 

Qualifications: 

  1. Applicants must be U.S. citizen, or provide proof of intention to become a citizen.

  2. All applicants must have at least 60 semester (90 quarter) hours of credit from an accredited college or university, and must provide proof of meeting this requirement at the time they are called for further processing.  Also acceptable are applicants with four years of continuous active duty in the Armed Forces.

  3. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and less than 35 years of age at the time of appointment unless exempt from such age limitation as provided for in the Fire And Police Commissioners Act.

  4. Information concerning testing procedures, qualifications, salary and benefits are included in the application packet.

  5. A nonrefundable $25 fee will be charged for the application packet.  Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license. 

  6. Applicants must have proof of a valid candidate physical ability test card prior to the written examination.  Information regarding CPAT and obtaining certification may be obtained by visiting Northwestern Public Safety Training Academy (NPSTA) or searching CPAT on the internet.

  7. Applicants must have correctible vision to twenty/twenty (20/20) and be free from color blindness.

from March 14, 2011 through March 28, 2011

during the following hours:

 

Monday through Friday

9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Saturdays

9:00 a.m. until noon
