McHenry County Sheriff Office is accepting application for a Court Security Officer position.  The Court Security Officer is the first person that you see upon entering the Government Center as they are charged with providing the entry screening. During this procedure a walk through metal detector and X-ray of all packages is performed.

Additionally, the Court Security Officer provides general security of the building, enforces laws and responds to calls for service, and maintains order within the government building.

The duties of what used to be referred to as “bailiff” are now performed by the Court Security Officer. Court Security Officers provide security, order and assistance within the courtroom as well as provide security for judges, court officers and the jury.

Former Police Officers are encouraged to apply.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Age 21 years, no maximum

• High School Graduate or GED

• Pass background investigation

• Pass physical

• Pass drug screening
