The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is seeking male and female applicants for the position of Correctional Officer.

• Age:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age

• Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

• Citizenship:

  • United States citizenship

• Experience:

  •  No prior experience required

• Driver's License:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

• Residency:

  • Must live in McHenry County or any bordering county (except Wisconsin) within one year of hiring
     

• Paid Overtime

• (10/11) Paid holidays per year, determined by County Board

• (3) Personal days per year

• Uniforms supplied by the Sheriff's Office

• I.M.R.F. Pension contributed by employee and employer

• Paid vacation: 5 days after one year, 10 days after 2 years, 15 days after 5 years, 20 days after 10 years

• Paid sick time after one year

• Major medical, dental and life insurance offered by the County for the employee and dependents (co-pay)

Maintain interior and exterior security of a detection facility and persons contained therein. To include physically conducting routine and random security checks of inmates and buildings.
