Beginning February 2, 2009, applications for the position of Police Officer will be accepted for employment and to establish an eligibility list.

Applicants must:

• Be U.S. citizen, age 21 to 34 unless the applicant qualifies for State exceptions to the age requirement

• Be a high school graduate (preference points given for education, military service or previous law enforcement experience)

• Have a valid driver’s license

Attendance at the Police Candidate Orientation and physical ability test on March 14, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. are required.

Orientation and all testing will be held at:

Lemont High School

800 Porter Street

Applicants must pass the physical ability test and a pre-employment written examination to be held on March 21, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.  Oral interviews will also be required.  After a conditional job offer, but before employment, psychological, polygraph and medical (including drug screening and vision testing) examinations will be administered.  Residency requirements after 2 years (within 20 miles of Lemont Police Station).  You will receive Police Academy training unless previously certified.
