RADIO DISPATCHER (EMERGENCY 911)
SHERIFF'S OFFICE - LIBERTYVILLE
24/7 work environment. Holidays & weekends required. Rotation time off.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in providing dispatching services in the central communications facility of the Sheriff’s Office. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls from the public, inquiring nature of calls, routing calls and receiving and transmitting messages on teletype network. The employee in this position is responsible for monitoring transmissions. Employees broadcast police information to mobile and/or stationary units. Duties include receiving and transmitting police, and transferring fire and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) messages using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System and Emergency 911 System.

The test will be administered at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Check-in is between 9:00 and 9:45 a.m. All applicants who pass the written exam will be required to complete a typing test with a passing score. You will be notified via e-mail regarding the date, time and location of your typing test.
