THE LAKE COUNTY SHERIFF'S MERIT COMMISSION is accepting applications to form a Certified Eligibility List from which future vacancies in the Sheriff's Office will be filled.  This list will be valid for two (2) years.

 

 

CERTIFIED DEPUTY SHERIFF

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Citizen of the United States at time of first test

  • Age 21 at time of first test

  • High School Graduate (or GED)

  • Valid Driver's License

 

Must successfully complete:

  1. P.O.W.E.R. Test

  2. Written entrance examination

  3. Oral interview

  4. Polygraph

  5. Psychological evaluation & background investigation

 

***PLEASE BE ADVISED THERE IS A $25.00 APPLICATION FEE. ONLY A CASHIER’S CHECK OR MONEY ORDER WILL BE ACCEPTED, PAYABLE TO THE LAKE COUNTY MERIT COMMISSION***

 

 

From October 10th – November 4th, 2011 application and necessary release forms can be obtained from:

You will also need to provide a copy of your birth certificate/naturalization paper and a copy of your high school diploma or GED. A copy of your college degree is acceptable, but we do not have a college requirement at this time. YOU MUST HAVE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS and payment provided to the Merit Commission prior to the P.O.W.E.R test (physical agility test) on November 13, 2011. Upon receipt of application and payment, you will be given a packet of documents you will need to bring with you to the physical agility test.
