The Village of
Kenilworth Police Department is recruiting highly qualified, mature-minded
individuals to complement our police department. We are seeking men and women
of good character, sound judgment and who are sensitive to the needs of the
community.
The selection process initially consists of a written test, physical ability
test, and oral interview. Successful applicants will be ranked on an
eligibility list then military, educational and work experience preference
points will be added to create a final eligibility list, which will be in effect
for two years or until the list is exhausted.
The Village offers competitive
wages, benefits and an excellent pension plan. The starting annual salary is
$56,616.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
A minimum of 21 years of age and
under 35 years of age prior to November 7, 2008 (except as otherwise provided by
statute)

A citizen of the United States or
meet the requirements of the Illinois Human Rights Act for citizenship status

Must have a high school diploma or
its equivalent
-
Must possess a valid driver’s license
-
Must be of good moral character
-
Must have correctable vision to
20/40, normal peripheral vision and able to distinguish colors

Each applicant must qualify in each
of the following: Orientation, Written Examination, Physical Ability Test and
Oral Interview

Prior to final appointment, applicant
must also pass the following: Background Investigation, Polygraph, Psychological
Evaluation, Medical Examination, Drug Screen and Credit Check

Must be able to perform all the
duties and tasks assigned to a Kenilworth Police Officer
