POLICE/PATROL OFFICER
 

Application packets for the position of Patrol Officer will be available beginning Saturday, April 1, 2006, through Sunday, April 30, 2006.
 

REQUIREMENTS:

• U. S. Citizen

• 20 years of age (will not hire until 21st birthday)

• Must be under the age of 35 when the eligibility list becomes effective.  Once age 35 is reached, you will no longer be eligible.

• High school graduate or GED equivalent

• Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record

• Must pass a written and oral examination

• Must pass a background investigation, polygraph and psychological testing

• Must pass a medical and visual examination

• Must pass state certified power test

• Must reside in the City of Joliet Corporate limits within 15 months
  from date of appointment

All applicants will be required to successfully demonstrate good physical conditioning and aptitude through an examination process consisting of a written and oral examinations.

A $40 non-refundable fee will be assessed at that time.

Application packets may also be obtained at the Joliet Police Department with exact cash only ($40)  during non-business hours.
 

Starting Salary As of 2004:  $35,623 (Under Contract Negotiations)
 

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

ALL COMPLETED packets must be turned in no later than 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 at the City Hall Information Desk, or postmarked from the United States Post Office by midnight May 5, 2006.  COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE JOLIET POLICE DEPARTMENT.
