Firefighter/Paramedic

The Board of Commissioners of the Huntley Fire Protection District announces the comprehensive examination process for the position of full-time firefighter paramedic.

At the time of application, unless otherwise noted below, the applicant must be/have:

1. A high school graduate or have a G.E.D.

2. A valid driver’s license with at least a class B non-CDL rating or greater at time of job offer.

3. At least 21 years of age at time of certification to the final eligibility list and under age 35 as of November 15, 2007, the last day that the commission is accepting applications. The maximum age restriction will not apply to an individual who meets one of the exceptions to the statutory maximum hiring age detailed in Section 16.06 of the Fire protection District Act or Section 10-2.1-6 of the Illinois Municipal Code.

4. A current Illinois EMT-B license.

5. A current certified EMT Paramedic license at time of job offer

6. An Illinois Certified Fire Fighter II.

starting on September 15, 2008 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A refundable administrative fee of $25.00 will be charged at the time of application packet pick-up.

WRITTEN TEST DATE:

NOVEMBER 15, 2008

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

MANDATORY Orientation is 8:30 a.m.

No one shall be admitted to test after 8:30 a.m.

Written test begins at 9:00 a.m.

Location of the test shall be at:
