Salary range as of January 1, 2008 is $51,859.00 to $73,912.00, plus other excellent benefits. Successful candidates with prior Illinois Municipal Police Officer experience may be started higher than the starting rate ($51,859.00).

Applications will be available as of March 31, 2008 (8:00 a.m.), and must be returned no later than April 18, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. A $20.00 processing fee is required and payable when the application is picked up.

Written and physical ability testing (including a 1-½ mile run) for all applicants will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. A written exam will be given immediately following an orientation session. Those applicants who pass the written exam must then take a 1-½ mile run exam. The remaining physical ability exam will be given to those who pass the 1-½ mile run.
