ORIENTATION (MANDATORY ATTENDANCE)
WHEN:  SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2004
REGISTRATION:  7:00 to 8:00 A.M.
Orientation Program begins 8:00 A.M.
 

Physical agility test administered following orientation session.
 

Written test administered to candidates who have

successfully passed physical agility test.

Applicants must meet a variety of qualifications, as specified in the Rules and Regulations of the Board and State Statutes, including but not limited to the following:

  • Shall be between the ages of 20 and 35 years of age at the time of application (unless statutorily exempted by 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6)

  • Have successfully obtained from an accredited junior college, college or university, either an associates degree in the fields of law enforcement or criminal justice, or a bachelors degree in any field or successfully completed the Minimum Standards Basic Law Enforcement Training Course as provided in the Illinois Police Training Act, 50 ILCS 705/1 and are currently serving as a law enforcement officer on a full-time or part-time basis in the State of Illinois

  • Applicants must be a citizen of the U.S. or have applied for citizenship 

  • Applicants must also possess a valid driver's license

  • Be in good physical health

  • Be of good moral character 

  • Applicants shall not have any tattoos that would be visible in whole or in part while wearing any uniform or apparel of the department 

  • Vision requirements include a minimum of 20/25 in best eye and 20/40 in other eye (glasses or contacts may be used to meet standards) and must be able to distinguish between colors (red, blue, green and yellow)
     

COMPENSATION:

 

Step pay plan
Entrance:  $46,250.00/year
Step 7 (after 7+ years)
$65,319.00/year
