PARAMEDIC/FIREFIGHTER TESTING

VILLAGE OF HILLSIDE

 

 

The Hillside Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is accepting applications for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for Paramedic/Firefighter.

 

 

Applications may be obtained from the office of:

 

Hillside Village Clerk

425 Hillside Avenue

Hillside, Illinois

 

Starting April 12, 2010

 

Monday through Friday

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Saturdays

9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

 

All completed applications without exception, must be returned to the Village Clerk’s office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2010.  

 

 

Prospective applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  1. Must be 21 years of age and under 35.  Age hiring limitations imposed by State statute are applicable

  2. Must be a U.S. citizen

  3. Must have a high school degree or G.E.D. equivalent

  4. Males must be registered with the local selective service draft board

  5. Must have a current Paramedic certification in the State of Illinois at the time of hire

  6. Applicants who are currently certified as paramedics will be provided preference in hiring

  7. Must have a valid driver’s license at time of hiring

  8. Must pay a non-refundable application fee of $20.00 for each application packet picked up

 

Additional requirements and supporting documentation requested of applicants will be provided as part of the Village’s application packet.  Candidates will undergo rigorous testing when includes a written examination, oral interview, background check, and polygraph testing, psychological and medical evaluations.

 

The application and examination process are subject to the rules and regulations of the Hillside Fire and Police Commissioners.

 

 

There will be a MANDATORY ORIENTATION session on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 9 a.m. at:

Court House Room

Hillside, Illinois 60162

 

No admittance will be allowed after 9:00.

 

 

The written testing is scheduled for

Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at:
