The Hillside Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is accepting applications for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for Police Officer.  Applications may be obtained from the office of the Hillside Village Clerk, 30 N. Wolf Road, Hillside, Illinois, starting March 1, 2004, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.  All completed applications without exception, must be returned to the Village Clerk's office no later than 7 p.m. on March 24, 2004.

Prospective applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Must be 21 years of age.  Age hiring limitations imposed by State statute are applicable.
2. Must be a U.S. citizen or an alien admitted, permanently or temporarily, who produces evidence of intention to become a citizen of the United States.
3. Must have a high school degree or G.E.D. equivalent.
4. Males must be registered with the local selective service draft board.
5. Must meet the requirements of a background check.
6. Must pass a medical, psychological and polygraph test.
7. Must have a valid drivers license at time of hiring.

Additional requirements and supporting documentation requested of applicants will be provided as part of the Village's application packet.

The application and examination process are subject to the rules and regulations of the Hillside Fire and Police Commissioners.  There will be a MANDATORY ORIENTATION session on Saturday, March 27th at 9 a.m. at the Hillside Community Center, 1 N. Lind Avenue, Hillside, Illinois 60162.

The written testing is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at the Hillside Community Center, 1 N. Lind Avenue, Hillside, Illinois 60162.
