The Harper College Police Department is currently
seeking applicants for the Police Officer position. As a Police Officer, you
will be responsible for the protection and wellbeing of the students, visitors,
staff and facilities of Harper College. Duties include the protection of life
and property, prevention of crimes, preservation of peace, enforcement of laws
and ordinances, and the arrest and prosecution of violators.
Must have a Bachelorís degree in Criminal Justice
or related field OR the combination of college education and experience.
Be at least 21 years of age and a US citizen.
Possess a valid Illinois driver's license.
Successfully complete a background investigation,
medical exam, psychological evaluation, polygraph exam, and oral interview.
Successfully complete the Illinois Law Enforcement
Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) Police Officer Wellness and Evaluation
Report (P.O.W.E.R.) test.
Possess Basic Police Officer certification or
successfully complete a Basic Police Officer Academy within six months of hire
Must have completed or will complete several law
enforcement, medical, and hazardous materials courses.
Annual medical examination and passing the ILETSB (P.O.W.E.R.)
