Minimum requirements at time of application are:

• Between the ages of 18 and less than age 35; and

• A U.S. Citizen; and

• Possess a valid drivers license at application and at hire; and

• High school diploma/equivalent; and

• Certification as a Firefighter II in the State of Illinois; and

• Minimum certification as a Provisional Paramedic or a System Approved Paramedic Student in the State of Illinois.

The hiring process includes:

• Mandatory orientation session

• Written examination

• Physical ability test

• Oral interview

• Background investigation

• Polygraph and psychological examination

• Post-offer medical examination and drug screen
