The Village of Gurnee is accepting applications for the position of full time Community Service Officer (CSO), a non-sworn civilian member of the Gurnee Police Department.
Starting annual base salary $41,586 plus benefits.
Primary responsibilities of a CSO include, but are not limited to, responding to non-criminal public nuisance complaints; animal control and complaints; running administrative errands within the Police Department and for other Village departments; handling vehicle lockouts; providing traffic control services, police vehicle escorts and courtesy patrols; parking enforcement; taking reports of minor thefts such as bicycle thefts and private property accidents; performing residential security checks; assisting during peak times at Police Station including typing and filing of police records and reports; serving as crossing guards when necessary; inspecting / installing child car safety seats (if certified) and performing related job tasks, duties, and public service as required.
