Glenview, IL 60025
Starting Salary: $43,023
Application Deadline: 9/10/12
The Village of Glenview is seeking to fill the Public Service Officer (PSO) position within the Police Department. This is a uniformed, civilian position that helps support the Department’s mission in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the community. PSOs play an integral role in handling many non-violent service calls and crime prevention activities, thereby allowing the Department to dedicate police officer resources to pro-active enforcement activities and criminal-related matters. The primary job functions include ordinance enforcement, traffic control, completing traffic accident reports, assisting motorists, performing courier services, installing child safety seats, and maintaining accurate records and files. The position also responds to occasional department call-outs in cases of emergencies and natural disasters (e.g. floods, tornadoes, blizzards.). The incumbent spends most of his/her time performing enforcement and patrol activities in a marked PSO vehicle. Additional duties include data entry, filing, and providing exceptional customer service both in-person and via phone. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Starting pay is $43,023/year with excellent fringe benefits.
