FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

 

 

The Village of Glenview is conducting an examination to establish an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.

 

Informational material regarding the position, eligibility, application process, and examination are provided in the Firefighter/Paramedic application packet.

between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The deadline for returning completed applications is no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2010.  Applications will only be accepted by hand delivery at the Glenview Village Hall (Second Floor).  Applications sent via e-mail, fax, or mail will not be accepted.

 

 

Candidates must:

  • Be 21-34 years old as of date of written examination except as provided under state statute for prior municipal fire experience

  • Be a U.S. citizen (native born or naturalized)

  • Have a high school diploma or GED

  • Provide proof of successful CPAT dated no earlier than August 20, 2009 

 

Candidates must either possess a valid Illinois EMT-Paramedic license, or obtain an Illinois EMT-Paramedic license within eighteen (18) months of hire as a condition of employment.

 

 

The written examination will be held at 8:30 a.m.

on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at:

 

Glenbrook South High School

4000 W. Lake Avenue

Glenview, IL

 

All candidates must have submitted an application to be permitted to take the exam. No orientation session will be held; all necessary information will be provided in the application packet.
