DESCRIPTION:

The Village of Glenview is seeking two (2) full-time 911 Public Safety Dispatch Team Leads to become part of the 911 Center team. The Dispatch Center is the primary answering point and dispatch center for the Village of Glenview wire line and wireless emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire and EMS. The Dispatch Center also provides dispatch services for other municipalities. 

The primary purpose of these working supervisor positions is to supervise, train, and manage dispatchers within the Village's Public Safety Dispatch Center.  This is accomplished by supervising and training dispatchers in the answering of emergency and complaint telephone calls, assisting with scheduling work in order to maintain optimum staffing levels, monitoring and evaluating dispatcher performance, recommending discipline, assisting with annual budget development, participating in the hiring process, identifying and recommending process improvements, monitoring inventories, maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring all equipment is operating properly, and attending Communication-related meetings outside of the scheduled shift, as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements include:

• High School degree or equivalent, with a minimum of four (4) years of public safety dispatching experience

• Previous supervisory experience in a public safety dispatch center is desirable

• LEADS and Priority Dispatch EMD certification, as well as New World CAD experience preferred

• Successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and sense of duty and responsibility, and be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

• Attention to detail and ability to work successfully with other team members is a must

• Successful candidate must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be subject to call back 24/7

SALARY:

Grade 916

$57,741 - $80,836 DOQ with excellent benefits
