POLICE OFFICER

IMMEDIATE OPENING

The GENEVA Police Department is looking for quality, professional, career-oriented individuals to establish a Police Officer Eligibility List.

SALARY

• $51,850 initial salary

• Increases to $54,900 after 1 year

• Salary consideration will be given to state certified applicants with police experience

• Step-grade salary increases, with a top-end salary of $73,378 after 8 years

QUALIFICATIONS

• 21 years of age at time of application, and under 35 years of age at time of appointment

• Excellent physical condition

• Associates Degree, or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university, or have successfully completed the State of Illinois Basic Law Enforcement Training course.

• Pass State of Illinois POWER physical fitness test, written examination and oral interview

• Pass (after conditional job offer):  polygraph test; medical exam; drug screen; psychological exam; background investigation
