The Police Chief reports to the Mayor.

Residency Requirement:

• Successful applicant will be required to reside in the community within six (6) months of hire.

Requirements:

• Must possess a background in law enforcement, business administration, public administration or related field. 

• Should possess a minimum of 15-20 years of progressive experience in the law enforcement field with at least five years of division command or managerial experience preferred. 

The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of all principles, practices and procedures of municipal police administration, criminal laws, court interpretations, budget development, computer applications, personnel management and the ability to effectively represent the Department and the Village, as well as the ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
