The Village of Forest View (est. pop 800) is seeking candidate for position of Director of Public Safety.  Forest View is located in Cook County, near I-55 and Harlem Avenue.  The director is appointed by the Village President with approval of Village Board.  The chosen candidate will be responsible for administering police and fire operations and reports to the Village President and Village Administrator.  The police department consists of 8 full time sworn officers and 12 part-time officers.  The fire department consists of 5 full time firefighters and 20 part-time firefighters.
 

The Village seeks experienced law enforcement professional with skills in planning, supervision, and staff development who is committed to community service, with outstanding leadership and administrative skills.

The candidate must possess the ability to develop a good working relationship with other area public safety agencies, and have a minimum of 10 years progressively responsible law enforcement experience, including 2 years supervisory rank and management experience.  Experience in fire department management is desirable but not necessary.

Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Police Administration or equivalent combination of experience and advanced police leadership training program such as FBI National Academy is highly desirable.
 

Salary in the low $70's.  Excellent benefit package.
