Public Notice is hereby given that effective May 4, 2009 the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners of the Village of Forest View will conduct examinations for the purpose of establishing an original appointment list for the Police Department of the Village.
 

In order to qualify to participate in the examination process, police officer applicants must:

• Be a minimum of 21 years of age and maximum of 35 years of age at the time of appointment

• Be a citizen of the United States

• Possess an Associates Degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited community college, college or university, or be employed as a police officer for the Village of Forest View for a minimum of two years, or possess a state certification as a police officer

• Possess a valid drivers license

• Have at least 20/100 vision correctable to 20/20

• Be void of color blindness
   

Residency Requirement:

Appointees must reside within 15 miles of the Village limits within 90 days of completion of probationary period.

When the recruitment cycle ends on June 2, 2009, all candidate applications will be reviewed and candidates deemed as most qualified will be invited by letter, to continue on in the Village's assessment process.  This process will include a mandatory orientation, intense background investigation and oral interview.  Post employment offer, medical examinations including drug screening, polygraph testing and psychological examinations will also be utilized.

A $10.00 non-refundable fee and a valid drivers license must be presented to receive an application.  Fully completed applications must be returned by June 1, 2009 at 5:00 P.M.  E-mail applications will not be accepted.
