The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Forest Park are accepting applications for the entry level full time position of Firefighter/Paramedic.  Testing will be conducted to establish a two-year eligibility list from which vacancies will be filled.

To be considered for employment, candidates must

meet the following requirements:

• At least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age (except as provided by statute)

• No felony convictions

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

• United States Citizen at time of filing formal application

• Valid driver’s license

• Proof of Illinois Licensure as an EMT-Paramedic at the time of hiring

• Current and valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) card issued by a licensed agency *(see below) within 12 months prior to written exam date (8/31/2011); CPAT card must also be valid at time of hire

• Must be able to pass a written examination with a score of 70% or better

• Must be able to pass an oral interview, background investigation, medical   examination, drug testing, polygraph examination, and psychological   examination

• Once hired, candidates will be required to successfully complete a Firefighter II Academy if not already certified at time of hire
