Receives and dispatches all Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) calls for a population close to 104,000.

Duties involve the operation of:

• 911 emergency telephone

• Motorola/Printrak Computer Aided Dispatch system

• Several additional computer systems

• Sophisticated radio and telephone systems

Position supports 24 hour a day, 7 day a week operation; working different shifts, weekends and holidays are required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidates must:

• Be able to speak clear articulate English

• Have full range of hearing in both ears

• Effectively deal with people in both emergency and non-emergency situations Respond appropriately and use good judgment under extremely busy and stressful conditions

• Flexibility and multi-tasking are paramount

• Pass a data entry test with 120 kpm

• High school diploma or GED (copy must be provided with application) is required
