The Deerfield Police Department will hold the written test for the position of Police Officer on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 8 AM.

Applicant Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age, not attained age 35 at time of examination

• Must have earned a bachelors degree from an accredited college or have at least 60 semester hours of college level course work and at least two years of sworn law enforcement work

• Must be of excellent moral character and in good physical condition 

• Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record 

• Successfully pass a written exam, physical ability test, oral interview, background investigation and polygraph 

• A psychological examination and complete physical with drug test will be given to candidates receiving a conditional offer of employment. 

Applicants must submit proof that they have passed the Illinois Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) Test at the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA - www.NIPSTA.org) within the past six months (as of June 26, 2010).

Starting salary is $56,851
