We seek a:
Full-Time Patrol Officer
Will provide services and protection for College properties, interests,
students, faculty, supportive staff and guests.
Responsibilities include:
-
Enforce College
rules and regulations pertaining to traffic and parking, posting of notices,
distributing tracts and pamphlets, assemblages of persons, and use of building
and grounds
-
Enforce
applicable State statutes, City and County ordinances
-
Assist other
police agencies surrounding the College upon request, when the performance of
those enforcement duties would not remove an officer from the campus
-
Take initial
reports of vehicular accidents, thefts, disturbances, injuries, illnesses,
assaults, batteries, deaths, and other crimes and incidents, including
interviews of victims and witnesses and further investigation of matters for
purposes of obtaining evidence, recovering property, preparing cases for court
and for making referral to other police agencies so corrective action can be
taken in cases of safety or health hazards

Provide
information and directions, lock and unlock buildings and rooms, assist
motorists locked out of their vehicles, render first aid, monitor, and report
and take necessary action in reference to severe weather or similar
emergencies, direct vehicular traffic on and off campus, provide protective
escorts for persons legally requesting the same, restrain when necessary,
mentally or emotionally disturbed persons and other similar services

Provide visible
preventative vehicle and foot patrols on campus and report any suspicious
activities observed that appear to be criminal in nature. Make arrests,
station adjustments when necessary

Successfully
qualify at department range qualification shoots
Minimum Requirements:
-
Requires 30
college credit hours
-
A successful
completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course offered by Police
Training Institute
-
AA or BS degree
in Criminal Justice or related fields
-
1 to 5 years
experience in law enforcement field preferred
