Police Officer Candidates

Currently there is (1) immediate opening for Patrol Officer.

The Coal City Fire and Police Commission will be accepting applications to conduct examinations for an available position of “Patrol Officer” for the Coal City Police Department.

Applications are available and may be

picked up/returned in person at:

Coal City Village Hall

515 South Broadway

Coal City, IL

weekdays between the hours of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

All applications must be completed in full and returned no later than 5:00pm, Monday April 14^th. A photo ID is required for an application.

A Mandatory Orientation Meeting will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 8:30 AM at:

Coal City Middle School

500 South Carbon Hill Road

This will be immediately followed by a written examination at 9:00 AM.

Applicants:

• Must be a United States citizen

• Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent

• Shall be under 35 years of age, at the time of application and at such time as the initial eligibility list is posted, unless exempt from such age limitations as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioners Act. Applicants, at such time as they file their application with this board, must be 21 years of age. Proof of birth date will be required at time of application.

Applicants will be subjected to the Rules of the Board, which may be viewed at the Coal City Village Hall.

Starting Salary:

$41,732
