Completed applications must be returned no later than 5:30 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. A $25 non-refundable fee must be paid at the time of obtaining applications.

Salary and benefits include uniform allowance, hospitalization, pension, vacation, and sick days.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• U.S. Citizen

• Ages 21 – 34 years old

• Requirements – health, mental and physical agilities necessary to perform the duties of police officer

• Must have a valid driver’s license and possess those qualifications set out in the Rules and Regulations of the Police and Fire Commission of the Village of Chicago Ridge

• Must have earned an associate’s degree in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice or a bachelor’s degree; 2 years of active military duty will be accepted in lieu of college credit

• Applicant must pass agility, written, oral, physical, psychological examination and polygraph test

• The physical and written exam will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011; ***Currently employed, full-time Illinois State Certified Police Officers for at least the last twelve months are encouraged to test under State Statute (65 ILCS 5/0 – 2.1-8-5/10-2.1-9)***

RESIDENCY:

All appointed police officers, within one year of appointment, shall make his/her place of residence within the boundaries established by the Village Ordinance.
