Firefighter/Paramedic Testing

 

 

The Carpentersville Board of Fire and Police Commission is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen;

  • Have no felony convictions;

  • Minimum age of 21 or maximum age of 35 at time of appointment, unless otherwise exempt by state statute;

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED;

  • Illinois Firefighter II (basic) State Certification;

  • Be licensed as an Illinois EMT / Paramedic at time of appointment.

 

Include with your application copies of the following:

  • *Transcript of high school grades, and copy of diploma or GED / College transcripts or degrees;

  • State certifications (Illinois Firefighter II from OSFM) (EMT-B or P from IDPH);

  • Driver’s license (photocopy);

  • Military – copy of discharge (DD 214);

  • Authorization for release of information;

  • CPAT certificate, which will include a ladder climb, within the past 12 months prior to the last date for filing application.

*Sealed transcripts must be forwarded to the Office of the Deputy Chief or turned in prior to written test at 9 am.

 

 

Testing Process:

 

Applicant will be expected to appear at the place, date and time scheduled. If you are not present at the time scheduled, you will not be allowed to participate and will not be considered for employment.
