Completed applications must be submitted in person to the Carpentersville Police Department by Thursday July 7, 2011 at 4:00 PM. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Age 21 or older

• Certified Police Officer - Illinois

• U.S. Citizen

• Valid Illinois Driver’s License

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Weight proportional to height

• Vision 20/200 correctable to 20/40 and be free of  colorblindness

• Must pass the POWER Test and submit a POWER test identification card from NIPSTA.  Upcoming test date: July 15, 2011.

• Military Discharge (DD - 214)

• Optometrist Certificate of Eye Examination

• Photocopy of Valid Drivers License

Application and Hiring Process

Oral interviews will be scheduled for July 11, 12 and 13, 2011.   Before an offer of employment is made the following will be conducted: background investigation; psychological assessment and polygraph examination.   Once employed, the part-time police officer must pass a field training program.      

Additional Information

All applications submitted and all application documentation will become the property of the Carpentersville Police Department. The salary for a Part-Time Carpentersville Police Officer is $18.00 an hour.  Part-Time Carpentersville Police Officers will be assigned a minimum of two eight hour shifts a month, plus shifts on an as needed basis.
