POLICE OFFICER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • $25 non-refundable application fee

  • U.S. Citizen

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • 21* to 35 years of age at time of application deadline (11/21/11), unless otherwise exempt by statute

  • Must have current and valid NIPSTA POWER test card dated within six (6) months PRIOR to December 10, 2011. A photocopy of your valid POWER test card is due on test day (12/10/11). (cards considered valid only if dated between 6/10/11 and 12/10/11)

  • No felony convictions

  • Vision correctable to 20/20

  • Must reside within 25 miles of Campton Hills Village Hall

  • Submission and completion of online application, release forms and all other required documents no later than 12 noon on Monday, November 21, 2011

 

*Applicants who are 20 years of age may apply ONLY if he/she has a minimum of two (2) years of law enforcement studies completed with an accredited college or university. Applicants will be required to provide copies of original, official transcripts as proof of this requirement. Contact Public Safety Recruitment with questions before the deadline.

 

 

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Visit www.publicsafetyrecruitment.com to pay the non-refundable application fee and to complete the online application for the position of Police Officer with the Village of Campton Hills Police Department. Your online application must be confirmed before 12 noon on Monday, November 21, 2011.  You will receive a confirmation number when your application is confirmed; save this number for your records.

  2. Visit www.NIPSTA.org to schedule your POWER test and to pay the testing fee.  POWER test dates fill up quickly and spots are limited; it is highly recommended that applicants schedule to take the POWER test at NIPSTA as soon as possible to ensure this requirement is met by the date of the written exam (12/10/11). 

  3. Submit proof that you have passed the ILLINOIS PEACE OFFICER WELLNESS EVALUATION REPORT (POWER Test) at the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA) within six (6) months PRIOR to December 10, 2011 on test day. A copy of your valid POWER test card will be collected at sign-in.  NIPSTA POWER Test cards will ONLY be accepted and considered valid if issued between 6/10/11 and 12/10/11.

  4. Return signed release forms and other required documents (see checklist) to Public Safety Recruitment (attn.: Campton Hills PD, 1127 S. Mannheim Rd., Suite 203, Westchester, IL 60154) before 12 noon on Monday, November 21, 2011.  Applications received after 12 NOON on Monday, November 21, 2011 will NOT be accepted.  Faxed and postmarked release forms will NOT be accepted. Documents may be delivered by hand or by mail; traceable courier is suggested to ensure timely delivery.

  5. Attend Mandatory Orientation and Written Exam on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Bell-Graham School, 4N505 Fox Mill Blvd., Campton Hills, IL.  Doors open at 8:15 a.m. Orientation begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and testing will immediately follow. A copy of your valid POWER test card (issued between 6/10/11-12/10/11) AND your valid driver’s license or state ID is required to sign in.  Applicants arriving after 9:00 a.m. will NOT be permitted to test.

All portions of the testing process are mandatory.  Failure to attend and successfully complete any portion of the process will result in elimination from employment consideration.
