Applications must be returned no later than Friday, December 10, 2010 at 6:00 PM.

All Application Packets must have a duplicate copy of diploma(s), birth certificate, driver's license and a one by one inch photograph.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST:

• Be 21 years old (or at least 20 if you have an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice), and less than 35 years of age (subject to certain exceptions listed in 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1.6)

• Be a U.S. citizen

• Have an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement or a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science Degree in any other area

• Have no felony convictions nor certain misdemeanors

• Have a valid driver's license

• Attend a mandatory orientation meeting

• Pass all examinations given by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners; Pass all other examinations including comprehensive medical, drug testing, polygraph, psychological, federal and state background/fingerprinting and state certification

Displaced Officers:

Certified officers with at least 2 years experience may be given preference over non-certified applicants.  Everyone will be tested.

THE MANDATED APPLICANT ORIENTATION MEETING AND WRITTEN TEST WILL BE GIVEN BY THE COMMISSION ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2010 AT 9:00 AM SHARP AT THE FIRE STATION (LOWER LEVEL NEXT TO THE VILLAGE HALL).  YOU MUST BRING YOUR PROOF OF DRIVER'S LICENSE.
