NOTICE OF EXAMINATION FOR POLICE OFFICER EMPLOYMENT

Mandatory qualifications to participate in the testing processes are:

  • Minimum age 20.  Maximum age 35 except as exempted by statute

  • United States Citizenship

  • Education Requirement: High School Graduation and

    Attainment of an accredited college Associate Degree

    Or completion of the requisite 64 credit hours normally required for the Associate level degree

Fully completed applications, attachments, and proof of minimum education requirement must be returned by Monday, September 19, 2011 at 5:00 PM.

 

 

Applicants must attend the mandatory informational pre-test orientation meeting on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 8:00 PM at the Bourbonnais Police Department.

 

Qualified applicants will undergo physical and written testing on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 8:30 AM.

 

The test location and reporting instructions will be announced at orientation.

 

Applicants who are successful in the testing will participate in oral interviews at a later date.  Following successful interviews, applicants will be posted to a two (2) year eligibility hiring list.

 

After conditional offer of employment, but prior to actual appointment, applicants will undergo an in depth background investigation, polygraph (lie detector) testing, in depth psychological testing, complete medical examination which will include drug and communicable disease testing and final interview with the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
